“After those days, says the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts…”[1]
Culture is based on symbols. Take a look at Figure 1. Imagine that humanity did not send it, but rather that it was sent to us. It is, in fact, a pictorial representation of the message carried by radio waves. This message contains 1,679 bits of information. The process of converting a radio signal first into an image and then, indirectly, into a meaningful message requires extensive prior knowledge. For many people, a written text, a linguistic interpretation of the image, is no less complex or encrypted than the image itself. Yet, we trust that the signal from the sky has been correctly converted into an image, and the image into a clear message.
Figure 1.
Interstellar Message
![]() | On November 16, 1974, a radio signal was transmitted from the Arecibo Observatory toward the globular cluster M13, located about 25,000 light-years from the galactic plane of the Milky Way. The signal contained 1,679 bits of information. 1,679 is the product of two prime numbers (73×23), indicating that the bits should be arranged into a grid of 73×23 fields, which forms this image. The top row establishes the convention for binary counting; the second row indicates the atomic numbers of the chemical elements – hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and phosphorus – that make up our bodies. In these markings, green and blue blocks numerically represent, in relative terms, both nucleotides and the sugar-phosphate backbone of DNA. The vertical white block represents the number of nucleotides in the genes of the red creature, the total population number is shown to the right of the creature, which is the same height as the number to the left, in units of the emission wavelength of 12.6 cm. The planetary system of this creature is shown in yellow, where the third planet has some special significance. The telescope transmitting the message is shown in purple. Its size is indicated by the horizontal line below. |
“All this Jesus said to the crowds in parables; indeed he said nothing to them without a parable.“[2]
If Jesus says that His message was given in parables and that the time will come when these symbols will be transformed into a clear message – a time when the message will no longer appear to us as an incomprehensible image, but rather as a fully meaningful system of information – then we must accept the following truth:
The biblical message, in its meaning, is only as clear as Figure 1 would have been to the inhabitants of Earth before the 20th century – which is to say, it is not clear at all. The messages in the Holy Books guide us toward finding the key that will lead to the proper understanding of what the Holy Books are truly speaking about.
“Believers are those who believe in God (Allah) and who contemplate about the creation of the heavens and the earth.“[3]
“Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the day and night there are signs for people of reason. ˹They are˺ those who remember Allah while standing, sitting, and lying on their sides, and reflect on the creation of the heavens and the earth…”[4]
“This is the Book! There is no doubt about it – a guide for those mindful ˹of Allah˺, who believe in the unseen…”[5]
“Now faith is… the conviction of things not seen… By faith we understand that the world was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was made out of things which do not appear.”[6]
“Whoever knows himself, knows his Lord.”[7]
“Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, you are gods’?”[8]
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him…”[9]
“The best form of devotion to Allah (SWT) is the pursuit of knowledge.”[10]
“One hour of your contemplation is better than seventy years of worship.”[11]
The Books direct us to contemplate the creation of the heavens and the Earth. This is followed by the instruction to know ourselves. If we add to this “You are gods”, and the fact that the Books speak about gods, the path begins to emerge. The Books also instruct us to seek knowledge. We have seen how much knowledge was required to interpret the transmitted radio signal. To interpret the Holy Books, we need all the knowledge that humanity possesses. It is especially important not to overlook the essence of creation and all phases of the development of the heavens and the Earth. The Earth, as we see it now, is not merely the product of physical conditions. In its development, it has also been uniquely influenced by life itself. This, in turn, leads us to ask how, directing us to understand the relationship between the organic and inorganic worlds.
Finally, the Books point to the existence of the invisible world and even state that once it is revealed, faith itself will serve as proof of its existence. As proof, faith has only God’s Revelations at its disposal. The conclusion is that there is a deeper meaning within the text of the Holy Books, and by uncovering that meaning, we will be able to use God’s Revelations as proof of the existence of the invisible world.
At this point, I am starting with a new way of interpreting the Holy Books. To follow my reasoning, carefully read everything that is written in “The Visible World”. In my interpretation, I will assume that you have a good command of this knowledge.
