The evolution of stars and their origin are most directly linked to the evolution and origin of life on Earth.

First – the matter we are composed of was created in giant supernovae and stars – red giants.

Second – when the Sun shined for the first time, its ultraviolet radiation penetrated the Earth’s atmosphere. The Sun’s heat caused warming and lightning, and these sources of energy created complex organic molecules that became the source of life.

Third – life on Earth is almost exclusively powered by sunlight.

Fourth – the spectacular deaths of distant massive suns partially drive the evolution of life on Earth. Hereditary changes, and mutations, represent the raw material for evolution. Mutations from which nature selects its new inventions of life forms are partially caused by cosmic rays – high-energy particles, electrons, and protons, ejected at nearly the speed of light during supernova explosions.
