The fact is that the cells in our bodies as systems are separate living beings that have their own consciousness, and the fact is that all cells in the body have one special collective consciousness (our human consciousness) that within itself connects all of them into a unique living entity. Cells are the body of man, and man is their collective consciousness, i.e. the soul of the body. It is also only one of the conscious system elements and it, as well, survives the death and decomposition of the body system. As all other body system elements survive i.e. stay conscious and keep existing, but they are not the same system anymore. I have great personal experience with this.
Please note that we people on the Earth together with the flora and fauna, have our common (collective) consciousness. It is one special, broad energetic self-conscious field, of which we are not yet fully aware, because humanity as a system (as a being, organism) has not evolved up to that level. Proof of the existence of that conscious instinctive field is telepathy which has been scientifically proven, which would be impossible without that field as a conveyor of our thoughts through distance (in the form of pictures). When human society as a system evolves to the end (together with flora and fauna), that conscious instinctive field which has the role of the collective consciousness of humanity will (by telepathy) informationally, interpersonal, and mutually connect all people in the world. Each with each will be connected, including each being from the flora and fauna world, and thus it will become our main information system. It is the same as our human conscious field as a carrier of human consciousness informationally connecting all its cells, each with each other. When this is accomplished, the information systems that we know nowadays – the telephone, radio, TV, internet – will only be toys for children.
In the Bible in John’s Revelation, the collective consciousness of humanity and its unity with people on the Earth are called “lamb”, “bride” and “bridegroom”. Also, Christ speaks about this in the Gospel of Matthew 24: 15-28.
